Belubula Hemp Homes, in partnership with the Hemp Building Directory, is offering an immersive hempcrete learning experience for people who want to move beyond theory and get properly hands-on.
In this structured, on-site learning opportunity participants will get guided, real-world experience on an active hempcrete build. All parts of the build will be explained from the slab to the roof but the focus will be on hempcrete installation.
The Experience
The Jenolan Hemping Hands Experience April-May 2026, is located in Good Forest, on Jenolan Caves Road not far from the Victoria Pass in the Blue Mountains region. Hempcrete installation is expected to run for approximately 2–3 weeks, Monday to Saturday, commencing mid-April 2026 (TBC).
Participants will be led by facilitator Jeremy Thomas (Hemp Building Directory) and builder James Isaacs (Belubula Hemp Homes) plus crew and trades, gaining direct exposure to best-practice hempcrete construction in a real building context.
What You’ll Learn
This experience is designed for people who want practical competence. Depending on the amount of days you attend, you’ll be involved in:
- Bucketing, placement and tamping techniques
- Get to know formwork setup and sequencing
- Hempcrete mixing methods
- Workflow efficiency and site logistics
- Quality control and common pitfalls
- Project management considerations for hemp builds
- Site safety and team coordination
You’ll be guided by an experienced team of builders, facilitators and trainers, with time for questions, discussion and observation as well as physical work. This team building opportunity will see you join with like minded people for a memorable learning experience you won’t forget.
